Creation
At first sight the painting is reminiscent of classical botanical drawing but I hope it goes much further for it includes elements only visible at microscopic or even molecular level. As well as the translucent greens of many minute flower parts I include blue to violet colours to reflect the different vision of the bees which are the other half of a symbiotic relationship which is essential to life on earth. A single bumble bee is honoured at the top left. Many elements are not obviously connected and this as well as the many fine lines running through the work suggests the constant changes and great complexity which go into producing the bright and fully formed dandelion at the bottom.
